Hot, Hot, Hot

It's been a hot time in Florida and it's only the beginning of this summer! When it's not raining, it's so hot and humid that it is hard to spend much time outdoors.
I did, however, get my first kayak 'training session' at the zoo. It will take many more hours to learn all the information I need to be able to 'lead' the tour. I will go and 'shadow' (be a second, bring up the rear, person) on tours being given and listen/learn from the guides who have been doing it for a while. This weekend, I am going for the 'animal handling' class. And, then there are several other classes that I'll be doing over the next few weeks like learning the aviary (and bat) information as well as the giraffe information too.
Otherwise, life goes on and I am planning my trips. I'll be flying to Albuquerque in August to visit with my friend, Diana, in Santa Fe, and then when I get back, it will be time to get back on the road with the animals for my 'long' trip north/northwest.
